Why is Third Party Lab Testing Important?
Search “do shower filters work” and you’ll find a wall of glowing reviews sitting right beside a pile of one-star complaints that the thing did nothing. Every brand claims to be the best. Every label promises 99% removal. Almost none of them tell you which chlorine type, at what flow rate, verified by whom. That lack of transparency is the real problem in this category.
Our results come from SGS — one of the world’s largest independent testing and certification organizations, operating in 130 countries with no commercial relationship to any filter manufacturer. They test what we send them. They report what they find. We have no influence over the outcome. And critically: we tested at 6 liters per minute — the actual flow rate of a running shower, not a slow trickle designed to flatter the numbers.
The industry credential most brands point to is NSF certification. That certification is real — but it certifies a product meets a minimum threshold. It does not guarantee the marketing claims on a brand’s website are true.
